Pai Royal Jasmine & May Chang Replenishing Body Oil

Pai royal jasmine & may chang replenishing body oil

If you have followed me for a while, you know that Pai is one of my favorite brands. With their latest release they indulged me -or at least that what I tell myself- by creating a body oil. There are numerous products on the market today that mimic the trend I’ve been using for years, but not many can actually live up to expectations. They’re tacky, weird packaging,  loaded with cheap filler ingredients, don’t sink in, you require loads or it just doesn’t smell nice. I’m very picky when it comes to skincare considering this is my area of expertise?

Pai almost nailed it with this fresh smelling body oil. It’s a gorgeous orange colored oil with the obvious scents of jasmine & may chang. In full disclosure, I did worry about the whole royal jasmine part, thinking it would be overly powerful and very girly. It’s a soft jasmine scent but that may chang gives it a citrus like punch, keeping the whole product very fresh smelling. Not at all girly but definitely unisex in my book if you can live with buttery soft skin after applying it.

It’s a thicker oil so you really don’t need a whole lot, but my tip would still be to apply on damp skin. This makes application easier and the product works in so much better than on dry skin. You can make it a frequent thin layer application after a shower or just go full out -like me- and apply it but then take time to sit still and let it all sink in. It takes longer if you use more but in the morning you wake up wondering what on earth you did to smell this good waking up. The scent lasts fairly long but tones down after a night. I have been counting in drops and for my entire body I need about 10 of those. So really don’t go pouring this out of the bottle if you want this to last a while.

It keeps the skin firm & supple, retains moisture especially if you applied it on top of damp skin, is rich in omega oil to deeply nourish and just smells divine. Basically it’s packed with anti oxidants and skin conditioning ingredients but that’s something you find out after the first application anyway.

I kept the bottle next to me on my desk and found myself applying it on the back of my hands & arms. Directly onto dry skin and not taking too much, it sunk in so fast and I got the full benefits from it without the hassle of needing to wait to put on clothing. I love walking barefoot too so in wintertime my feet get a bit dry from this. Slather some of this on, cover in socks and skin stayed nicely conditioned. No dry cracked skin anywhere. You could also use any body oil for massages but make sure they’re worth it first. This is the good stuff, not to be wasted on just anyone.

The only downside in my book is the bottle itself. It’s very thick and study glass, but the cap covers just an open hole. A pumping system would be much preferred over this, since I know how clumsy I can get with oily hands and glass containers. Makes it easier to dose as well but that’s just me. I know some of you prefer this type of bottle anyway. Took this with me in my luggage so many times and not even a scratch or worry it would have leaked open into my bag.

It’d be SO much easier if it comes with a pipette but still. The stuff’s got to be good!

Trust me, it is quality body oil alright. Like I said to andy, one of those plastic rings with a small hole in the middle so you shake it for it to come out, that would be perfect.

  4. This sounds lovely. I’m a big fan of body oils over lotions or creams. Agree a pump dispenser would be better though or a smaller whole so it drips out rather than pours?
